DTF Press Instructions

 

Step 1. Pre-Press Shirt to remove moisture

Step 2. Transfer the image by heat press at 320°F for 10-15 seconds with firm pressure.

Step 3. Peel warm/cool

Step 4. Heat press again at 280°F 5 seconds with medium pressure to enhance softer hand feel.

• For best results, machine wash inside out with cold water.
• Do not use fabric softeners.
• Tumbler dry low heat or hang dry.
• DO NOT iron!

When transfer is properly pressed and wash instructions are followed, the prints on the garment will be incredibly durable and last the lifetime of the garment.

Direct to film transfers can be applied to any fabric type and any color garment!

1 - Turn Around Time (TAT)

KM Customs' turn around time (TAT) for DTF Transfers is 1-3 business days. Please note that the turn around time is the time between when your order was submitted and when it gets fulfilled. Weekends and Federal holidays do not count towards TAT. 

2 - Artwork Policy

All files submitted for printing must be a print quality file. A print quality file is a high resolution PNG with a minimum of 300 DPI (dots per inch) and MUST have a transparent background.

*Please note that by using an image upscaler to make your file 300 DPI DOES NOT make the file a high resolution file. 

KM Customs is NOT responsible for quality issues of transfer(s) that are submitted for printing that does not meet these standards. Orders that do not meet the above standards for a print quality file are not eligible for free reprinting. 

Please triple check spelling and punctuation on all artwork.

3 - Copyright Information

By submitting your artwork/file(s), you are certifying you are the designer of this artwork OR have the legal right to produce a print of this artwork by a third party printer.  It is the customers responsibility to ensure they are authorizing the printing of this artwork within the designers terms and conditions. KM Customs is not responsible for confirming our customers have the authority to use artwork for printing. 

4 - Color Information

Please note, DTF prints are printed in CMYK color codes.  Designs created in RGB color codes will be converted to the closest CMYK color available for printing.  Please be advised colors may vary from screen to screen.  Please be mindful, not all RGB colors are available in CMYK format. Our printer is set up with a correct color profile for the inks and film we use to ensure the closest color match. 

5 - Care Instructions 

After pressing/applying transfers and selling the finished product, it is highly recommended you include care instructions for your customer. KM Customs is not liable for issues with the transfers once they are pressed/applied and/or the finished product is sold. 

6 - Press/Application Instructions

6.1 - DTF Transfers

Step 1. Pre-Press Shirt to remove moisture

Step 2. Transfer the image by heat press at 320°F for 10-15 seconds with firm pressure.

Step 3. Peel instantly!

Step 4. Heat press again at 280°F 5 seconds with medium pressure to enhance softer hand feel.

Tips

• Use a spare cotton shirt or T-Seal sheet on second press to enhance the soft hand feel of the print.
• Make sure you use firm pressure (hard to close press) and peel the film off quickly (like a bandaid).

7 - Refunds

All sales are final!

If there is an issue with the way your transfer was printed, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your package. For further information, please view our refund/return policy. 

Agreement

By purchasing DTF Transfers and/or UV DTF Transfers, you agree that you have full rights or own the artwork. You also agree that you understand that the images uploaded are correct and the printer is NOT responsible for any differences in color, size, quantity, or artwork quality.

DTF Transfers Store Policy

Thank you for choosing KM Customs! We take pride in creating high-quality DTF transfers for makers, small businesses, and creators. Please review the policies below before placing your order. By purchasing DTF Transfers from KM Customs, you agree to these terms.

1. Turnaround Time (TAT)

KM Customs' turnaround time (TAT) for DTF Transfers is 1–3 business days.

Turnaround time begins once your order has been successfully submitted and includes the time required for production and fulfillment. Weekends and federal holidays do not count toward turnaround time.

Please note that turnaround time does not include shipping transit time.

2. Artwork Requirements & File Policy

Customers are responsible for submitting print-ready artwork files.

A print-quality file must meet the following requirements:

• High-resolution PNG, SVG, PDF, or AI file
• Minimum of 300 DPI
• Minimum recommended size of 3750 x 3750 pixels
• Transparent background required

Please upload HIGH RESOLUTION PNG, SVG, PDF, or AI FILES WITH TRANSPARENT BACKGROUNDS ONLY!

Please note: Using an image upscaler or increasing the DPI of a low-quality image does not make the file a true high-resolution file. Enlarging a low-quality image may result in blurry or pixelated prints.

KM Customs is not responsible for quality issues caused by artwork files that do not meet these requirements. Orders submitted with low-resolution artwork, incorrect file formats, backgrounds, or other customer-provided artwork issues are not eligible for free reprints.

Please carefully review all artwork before submitting your order, including:

• Spelling
• Punctuation
• Design placement
• Image quality
• Transparency
• Sizing

3. Copyright & Artwork Rights

By submitting artwork or files to KM Customs, you confirm that you either:

• Own the artwork/design, or
• Have obtained the proper rights and permissions to reproduce the artwork through a third-party printer.

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure they have authorization to print and sell any submitted artwork.

KM Customs does not verify ownership, licensing, or usage rights for customer-submitted artwork and is not responsible for copyright, trademark, or intellectual property disputes resulting from customer-provided files.

4. Color Disclaimer

Our printer is calibrated using the correct color profile for the specific inks and film we use to achieve the most accurate and consistent colors possible.

However, color appearance can vary based on monitor settings, device screens, lighting, and other factors outside of our control.

Free reprints will not be issued due to color discrepancies.

Please note: Colors may vary slightly from screen to screen and from digital artwork previews to the final printed product.

5. Care Instructions

Once transfers have been pressed/applied and the finished product is sold, KM Customs is no longer responsible for the care, application, or handling of the completed product.

We highly recommend providing proper care instructions to your customers when selling finished apparel or products featuring DTF transfers.

KM Customs is not liable for issues caused by improper application, washing, drying, use, or care after the transfer has been applied.

7. Refund Policy

ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

Due to the custom nature of DTF Transfers, we do not accept returns or exchanges.

If you believe there is an issue with how your transfer was printed, please contact us within 48 hours of pickup or delivery.

8. Reprint Policy

We take pride in producing high-quality products and want to make things right if there's ever a printing issue.

Please inspect your order immediately upon pickup or delivery. If you experience any issues, you must contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order (pickup/delivery).

8.1 When a Free Reprint Is Available

A free reprint will only be approved if the issue is determined to be the result of our printing process and not the artwork that was submitted.

To qualify for a reprint:

• You must notify us within 48 hours of pickup or delivery.
• The original item(s) must be returned to us in their original, unused condition.
• Transfers that have already been applied to any surface are not eligible for a reprint.

8.2 Color Accuracy

Our printer is calibrated with the correct color profile for the specific inks and film we use to achieve the most accurate and consistent colors possible. However, color appearance can vary due to differences in monitors, screens, device settings, lighting, and other factors outside of our control.

Because of this, free reprints will not be issued for color discrepancies or differences between the digital artwork displayed on your screen and the final printed product. Please note that colors may vary slightly from screen to screen.

8.3 What Will Be Reprinted?

Only the portion of the order that is determined to have a printing defect will be reprinted. If the entire order or image is found to be defective, the entire order or image will be reprinted.

8.4 Reprint Ordering Process

Once your reprint request has been approved, we'll ask you to place a new order containing only the items approved for reprinting. We'll provide you with a discount code that covers the cost of the approved reprint.

The reprint order must be placed within 48 hours of receiving the approval and discount code. After that time, the complimentary reprint offer will expire. This process helps us keep production organized and ensures all customer orders continue to move through our production schedule efficiently.

8.5 Shipping

Approved reprints will be printed and shipped at no additional cost when the original order was shipped.

If your original order was scheduled for local pickup and you would like your approved reprint shipped instead, shipping charges will be the customer's responsibility.

We print exactly as submitted, so issues related to artwork quality, resolution, sizing, backgrounds, spelling, or other customer-uploaded file errors are not eligible.

Order Cancellations: Please reach out to us via email if you'd like to cancel your order. If your order hasn't started printing yet, it is KM Customs sole discretion whether your order will be cancelled and refunded. 

Customer Agreement

By purchasing DTF Transfers and/or UV DTF Transfers from KM Customs, you acknowledge and agree that:

• You have full rights or ownership of the artwork submitted.
• Your uploaded files and order details are correct.
• KM Customs is not responsible for differences in color, size, quantity, or artwork quality caused by customer-submitted files or screen variations.
• You have reviewed and understand all store policies before placing your order.
